This Progressive Preservation Talk with Glenda Winders will feature information about the historic Mt. Healthy Elementary School, which was designed by Hugh Hardy and completed in 1972. In a public discussion, Winders, a Columbus-based writer, will share her work researching the school and archives.
The event will take place in Helen Haddad Hall at the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic (315 Franklin St). The evening will begin with a reception at 4:30 p.m. with light refreshments provided. The talk will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will include time for feedback from those in attendance.
Glenda Winders is the author of two novels, “The Nine Assignments” (now being adapted for television) and “Sainted in Error,” which has won a starred Kirkus Review. She also writes for Columbus, Indy South, and Travel Indiana magazines; is the travel editor for Creators Syndicate in Los Angeles; does copyediting for Napa Valley Features; and edits for other writers. Previously in her career, she won a PEN/Syndicated Fiction award and a Missouri Writing! Award sponsored by the Missouri Arts Council. She has taught writing at the high school and college levels and was the vice president and editor at Copley News Service—an international news service and features syndicate based in San Diego. She is currently finishing a new novel, tentatively titled “Peculiar.”
